This year’s Haj camp of Pookkottur will be held on Saturday and Sunday. Indian Union Muslim League State president Syed Hyderali Shihab Thangal will inaugurate the camp on Saturday morning. E. Ahamed, MP, will preside.
On Sunday, Minister in charge of Haj Affairs P.K. Kunhalikutty will open the camp. Syed Munawwarali Shihab Thangal will preside. Organisers said 8,600 pilgrims from different parts of the State had registered for the camp.
Abdussamad Pookkottur, Islamic scholar and Central Haj Committee member, will lead the two-day camp. He will conduct classes with the help of a Kaaba replica. “It will be a kind of hands-on experience,” said Mr. Abdussamad.
