In his frames, light blends with surreal landscapes to create magical images.

Kozhikode was witness to this magic when an exhibition of 50 nature photographs by photo artist K. Jayaram was held at the Kerala Lalithakala Akademi Art Gallery here recently.

Just the number of people who came from all over Malabar to view the exhibition titled ‘Moody Landscapes’ stands testimony to the talent of the nature photographer, whose career spans decades.

At the exhibition were limited edition, fine art archival prints specially printed by the artist himself on the world’s best paper and canvas. The texture of the surface added a special effect to each of the photographs, to make them look often like water colour paintings.

The exhibition, inaugurated by noted cartoonist E.P. Unny on April 19, concluded on Sunday. It was organised by the Akademi in association with the Forest Department and N.P. Jayan School of Photojournalism.
