Govt promoting anti-student policy, alleges MSF

KOZHIKODE: A march taken out to the collectorate on Monday by Muslim Students Federation (MSF) activists protesting against the latest revision of fee structure at private medical colleges ended up in a scuffle with the police.

Six workers, who allegedly tried to assault the police, were arrested. The police fired tear gas shells and used water cannon to disperse the protesters.

MSF State president Misbah Keezhariyur, who flagged off the march, said the LDF government had adopted an an anti-student policy. He accused Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan of promoting it without knowing the concerns of students.

MSF district president M.P. Samad, secretary Latheef Thurayur, and IUML district general secretary M.A. Razak were among those who addressed the gathering.
