Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), the student wing of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has taken exception to the government’s reported refusal to allot land to the Thunchath Ezhuthachan Malayalam University.
A State committee meeting of the ABVP here on Wednesday said the government was quick to acquire and provide land to the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU).
A press note issued by ABVP said this was an example of the ‘glaring discrimination’ against the Malayalam university.
ABVP would be forced to launch an agitation against communalisation and privatisation of education sector, it said.
Concern
The meeting also expressed concern over the Finance Minister not making budgetary allocation to open more colleges.
ABVP would organise various events as part of the 150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. Campaigns would be launched to protect mangroves, heritage buildings, and the cultural identity of various places in the States.
The State committee also decided to organise awareness campaigns aimed at girl students.
