Malabar movie fete from tomorrow

The second Malabar Movie Festival organised by the Aadi Foundation, Kerala Chalachitra Academy, Koyilandy municipality and the Department of Public Relations will begin at Krishna theatre in Koyilandy on Friday. According to a press release, 18 movies in Malayalam, Indian and world movies categories will be screened as part of the three-day festival.

Chalachitra Academy Chairman Rajeev Nath will inaugurate the festival at 5 p.m.. Chairperson of Koyilandy municipality K. Shantha will preside. Negalukal by Avira Rebecca will be the inaugural movie.

Director K.R. Mohanan will deliver the Vincent commemoration lecture on March 14. Malayalam classic Bhargavee nilayam will be screened later. Mr. Mohanan, M.P. Sukumaran Nair, P.N. Gopi Krishnan, C.S. Venkateshwaran, Avira Rebecca, K.B. Venu, Sajin Babu, Sajeevan Anthikkad, Harshad and Niranippuzha Shanavas will take part in an open forum to be held on March 14 and 15.

Jalamsam by M.P. Sukumaran Nair, Zaheer by Sidharth Siva, Vidooshakan by T.K. Santhosh, Daayom Panthrantum by Harshad and Kari by Niranippuzha Shanavas are the Malayalam movies to be screened at the festival.

Thousand Rupee Note (Marathi), Greenery will Bloom , Wild Tales , A Girl at My Door (Korea), The Dance of Reality (Chile), Leviathan (Russia) and They are Dogs (Morocco) are the other movies.

The valedictory function on March 15 will be inaugurated by M.P. Sukumaran Nair at 5.30 p.m. For delegate pass and other details, contact: 94951 62892 or 94964 39451, a press release here said.
