Judicial First Class Magistrate P.T. Prakasan, the 159th witness in the T.P. Chandrasekharan murder case, deposed in the Special Additional District and Sessions Court (Marad cases) here on Tuesday.

He told Special Judge R. Narayana Pisharadi that he had conducted the identification parade of first accused M.C. Anoop, 30; third accused Kodi Suni, alias N.K. Sunilkumar, 28; fourth accused T.K. Rajeesh, 33; and seventh accused K. Shinoj; on the first floor of the District Jail, Kozhikode.

He said there was no possibility of the witnesses P. Ramachandran and K.K. Praseeth from Vallikadu identifying Kodi Suni before the identification parade held on June 16, 2012, as there was adequate security arrangement in the jail.

Mr. Ramachandran had, in fact, failed to identify Kodi Suni on that day.

As many as 13 people with facial resemblances were present for the identification parade of Rajeesh.

M.C. Anoop’s identification parade was on June 14 and that of Shinoj on June 12, 2012. Effective measures were taken to prevent circumstances whereby the witnesses could identify the accused while they were in judicial or police custody, the magistrate said.
