CPI(M) workers attack lensmen

A group of CPI(M) workers on Friday attacked three news photographers who were on duty to capture visuals of a protest at Palayam during a hartal in the city on Friday.

A. Sanesh of The New Indian Express , P. Abhijith of Madhyamam and K.V. Sreejesh of Kerala Bhooshanam were manhandled by a gang of six CPI(M) workers. The gang destroyed Mr. Sanesh’s camera when he tried to photograph hartal supporters blocking an autorickshaw near the Palayam market. The other photographers were assaulted when they tried to save Mr. Sanesh from the gang.
