The Coordination Committee of Residents Association at Kuruvattur panchayat here is facilitating a common platform for the people’s representatives in the panchayat, public administrators as well as the members of various residents’ forum to come together and discuss their common developmental issues.
The inaugural ‘face-to-face’ programme will be conduced on October 4 at Parambil Bazar at 3 p.m, said the coordination committee office-bearers at a press meet here on Tuesday. In as many as 18 wards there are 24 residents association affiliated to the coordination committee at the Kuruvattur panchayat. Selected office-bearers from all these associations will participate in the programme. Senior administrators from health, police and other important departments will also attend the programme, which will discuss important developmental issues of the panchayat on a priority basis, said C. Chekkutty, president of the coordination committee.
The committee had also initiated different developmental and progressive activities such as cleanliness awareness camp and traffic rules sensitisation programmes at the panchayat earlier. Additional District Magistrate (ADM) P. Arumugan will inaugurate the programme. Public representatives and leaders from the socio-cultural front will also attend the function, said Mr. Chekkutty.
