As Kudumbasree Mission enters its 19th year of operation, the Kozhikode Corporation’s Kudumbasree Community Development Society (CDS) will organise ‘Vaibhav 2017’, a 10-day entrepreneurship meet starting from August 24.

Through Vaibhav (Vibrant Initiative for Brand Hype and Versatility), the CDS plans to mark its presence online and help brand Kudumbasree products across the State.

With 2017 being observed as the ‘Year of entrepreneurship’, women entrepreneurs from across the State will take part in the meet, which will be a first step in branding Kudumbasree products. An e-commerce portal for the purpose will be launched on the occasion. “The portal will feature all Kudumbasree products in the State though it will be managed by the Kozhikode Corporation CDS,” Kudumbasree member secretary and Project Officer M.V. Ramsy Ismail said.

Vaibhav will also mark the opening of three major projects of the Kozhikode Corporation CDS. The first is a women’s hostel that is getting ready near Govindapuram. The official inauguration of the second plant under ‘Theertham Project’ will also be held on the occasion. The CDS is planning to launch an ice cream brand too.

A grand cultural fiesta to be held simultaneously on 19 stages will be a highlight of the festival. Different art forms will be featured on each of the stages. Eleven out of the 19 art forms will be staged by CDS members while professional women’s teams have been hired for the rest. The CDS also plans to honour 19 women on the occasion of its 19th anniversary. The women from 19 different vocations will together light the festival torch.

The meet will conclude on September 2.
