The Curtain came down on the Kozhikode Revenue District School Arts Festival at JDT Islam Higher Secondary School at Vellimadukunnu here on Friday.
Kozhikode City educational sub-district emerged overall champion in the higher secondary school (HSS) category of the event with 386 points. In the high school category, Chvayur sub-district won the overall championship with 335 points while in the upper primary (UP) section, Perambra sub-district emerged winner with 143 points.
Leaving the Memunda HSS (136 points) far behind, the defending champions Silver Hills HSS, Kozhikode, bagged the honours for the top-scoring school in the HSS category with 213 points.
Silver Hills HSS established their domination in the high school category as well, by scoring 166 points while Anglo Indian Girls’ Higher Secondary School had to be content with the second spot, scoring 135 points.
In the UP category, Memunda HSS bagged the trophy for the top-scoring school with 53 points.
The valedictory function was inaugurated by M.K. Raghavan, MP, and district panchayat president K. Jameela presided over the function.

Sanskrit festival UP: Winner: Vadakara and Kozhikode City educational sub-district (80 points each); runner-up: Balussery educational sub-district (78 points); second runner-up : Peramabra sub-district (77 points). Top-scoring school : Providence HSS (35 points)
Sanskrit festival HS: Winner: Kozhikode city sub-district (85 points); runner-up : Koyilandy sub-district ( 84 points): second runner-up : Balussery (78 points). Top-scoring school : Government Sanskrit HS, Vadakara (57 points)
Arabic festival UP: Winner: Nadapuram sub-district (63 points); runner-up : Feroke sub-district (61 points): second runner-up : Koduvally sub-district (59 points). Top-scoring schools : KVKM MUPS, Devarkovil; MUM VHSS, Vadakara; Al Huda UPS, Kozhikode; and CIRHSS, Mathara (30 points each).
Arabic festival HS: Winner: Koduvally sub-district (90 points), runner-up: Mukkam sub-district (88 points); second runner-up: Feroke sub-district (85 points). Top-scoring school: NIR HSS Parappan Poyil (46 points)
