The annual Onam trade fair organised by small-scale entrepreneurs under the IRDP (Integrated Rural Development Programme), SGSY (Swarnajayanthi Gram Swarozgar Yojana) and Kudumbasree schemes will begin at the Kandamkulam Jubilee hall in the district on Tuesday. The five-day fair will witness the participation of small-scale entrepreneurs from 12 block panchayats.
Organisers said in a communication here on Monday that products to the tune of Rs.2 crore would reach the venue for sale and exhibition. Over 500 rural entrepreneurs would participate in the event, they added.
District panchayat president K. Jameela said the fair would offer ample opportunities for the people to purchase homemade and organic items.
