An ex-serviceman on Monday shot dead his wife at Panikkarangadi, near Kunnamangalam, on the outskirts of the city.
Investigators said Suresh Kumar, 45, a security officer with a bank, pointed a pistol at his wife, Sreeja, 40, and pulled the trigger on her possibly on Monday night. The accused, reportedly of unsound mind, surrendered before the Kunnamangalam police on Tuesday. The couple resided at Pilassery, Panikkarangadi. The motive is yet to be verified, the police said.
