The district level expert committee has given the nod for the implementation of 15 projects out of the 41 that had been submitted by 17 local bodies in Kozhikode district at a meeting of the committee on Tuesday. The faults in the remaining projects have been identified and the local bodies have been asked to cover the loopholes before submitting them to the committee again.
The Educare project of Kozhikode District Panchayat, District Kayaking Championship, Green Clean Kozhikode project, putting up solar lights on Thamarassery ghat road, medicinal gardens at schools in Azhiyur and Nadapuram panchayats, fencing to ward off wild animals in Kattippara and Panangad panchayats, safe milk project in Kottur, cement brick manufacturing in Unnikulam panchayat, comprehensive children’s development project in Azhiyoor, waste management in Kunnamangalam, and PSC coaching for members of Scheduled Castes and Tribes in Karasseri panchayat are some of the projects that have been approved.
Additional District Magistrate T. Jenil Kumar; District Planning Officer M.A. Sheela; and Regional Town Planner K.N. Abdul Malik took part in the meeting.
