Entries invited for Poorna Uroob award

Entries are invited for the 12th Poorna Uroob awards given to independent works of fiction.

The best novel will carry a cash award of Rs.11,111, a citation, and a certificate. Best short story by a student will bag Rs.2,000 and a certificate while the second prize is Rs.1,000 and certificate.

Works published as first edition in 2014 as well as hand-written copies of unpublished works may be sent for awards in the novel category.

There should be two self-attested copies of the published novel while only one copy of the unpublished works, written only on one side of the paper is needed. Works received will not be returned so the writers are advised to keep a copy.

Entries should be accompanied by the full contact details of the author. There is no age limit for participation in the novel contest.

Short stories

Students may send in their short stories neatly written on one side of the paper, along with full contact details, address of the educational institution, phone number, and attestation of the head of the institution.

The stories should not be imitations of any previously published works, or translations. An author may send only one of his entries to a category.

Before March 15

The award committee to be appointed by Poorna Publications will consist of noted writers. Entries should reach ‘The Manager, Poorna Publications, TBS Building, GH Road, Kozhikode- 673001’ on or before March 15.

The declaration form available on the website www.tbsbook.com may be filled in and sent along with the entries. The envelopes should be superscribed as ‘Poorna Uroob Award- 2015,’ a press release said.
