The stage is set for Ente Rakshakan (My Saviour), a light-and-sound show by Soorya Krishnamoorthy in Kozhikode. The show, which has been presented in 55 locations in Kerala as well as other States, is being presented in north Kerala for the first time, on a specially constructed 10,000-square-feet stage at Medical College Ground in Kozhikode from November 1 to 5.
The show features 150 artistes, 50 animals and birds. “The expense for a single staging is around ₹10 lakh,” said Mr. Krishnamoorthy, who conceptualised and directed the show.
“It is a musical and the sound score has been pre-recorded, including the very few dialogues. Poet V. Madhusoodhanan Nair penned all songs over a period of four years. Musician Ramesh Narayan composed them. Make-up artist Pattanam Rasheed has been handling the make-up of the artistes,” said Mr. Krishnamoorthy.
The show is being staged in a make-shift air-conditioned auditorium that has a capacity of 1,650. Entry will be regulated through passes. Passes for the front rows cost ₹250, while it is ₹500, ₹1,000 and ₹2,500 for the rows behind. The show timings are from 6.30 p.m. to 8.30 p.m.
