Autorickshaw drivers go on strike

A section of autorickshaw drivers in the city resorted to a flash strike on Monday to protest against the attack on an autorickshaw driver. The strike launched by the drivers at 11 a.m. on Monday would continue till 6 a.m on Tuesday.

The protestors wanted the police to arrest two of the accused persons in the incident. As per the complaint given to the police, Salim, an autorickshaw driver hailing from Olavanna, was attacked by two unidentified travellers on Sunday night. The attack was reportedly following an argument over the fare. One of them stabbed the driver, the complaint said.
