‘Anti-terror day’ observed

Various organisations, including the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) and the Popular Front of India (PFI), observed the 25th anniversary of the demolition of the Babri Masjid with satyagrahas and protest meetings at various parts of the district on Wednesday.

IUML activists staged protest meets in all panchayats, municipalities, and Kozhikode corporation. The party observed the day as ‘anti-terror day’ .

PFI activists staged dharna at various places in the district demanding reconstruction of the Babri Masjid at the demolished site in Ayodhya.

Former Minister A. Neelalohithadasan Nadar inaugurated the dharna at Kidson Corner in the city while PFI State committee member K.K. Abdul Jabbar opened the protest at Vadakara. The SUCI (Communists) observed the anniversary as ‘black day’. They held a meeting at the Mofussil bus station in the city, where SUCI district secretary A. Shekar delivered the keynote address.
