District Congress Committee president T. Siddique has demanded that the police register a case against Communist Party of India (Marxist) district secretary P. Mohanan for reportedly threatening the Payyoli sub-inspector of police. Mr. Siddique said that the CPI(M) leader had allegedly threatened the police officer during a protest meeting organised by the party against the ‘RSS-CBI conspiracy’ at Payyoli recently.

He was speaking at a reception accorded to him during his coastal march — Kadalirambam — to highlight the ‘failure’ of the Central and State governments to effectively handle the aftermath of cyclonic storm Ockhi that pounded the Kerala coast.
