The Department of Posts has said that Aadhaar and mobile numbers are mandatory for opening all post office small saving schemes, public provident fund, national savings certificate scheme, and Kisan Vikas Patra.

Existing depositors who did not submit Aadhaar number at the time of opening accounts should submit a self-attested copy of Aadhaar cards to the post office concerned on or before December 31, the Senior Superintendent of Post Offices, Calicut Division, said here on Monday.
