One more held for Kolkata flyover collapse

The Kolkata police, probing the collapse of the under construction city flyover that claimed 26 lives, arrested one more person, taking the total number of arrests to nine, the police said on Wednesday.

“Ranjit Bhattacharya, assistant vice-president (Kolkata) of the Hyderabad-based infrastructure company [IVRCL], was arrested late on Tuesday evening,” a police officer said. Mr. Bhattacharya was produced before a city court, which remanded him in police custody till April 11.

According to the police, the official was arrested after he was released from hospital.
