The National Investigation Agency (NIA) probing the Bardhaman blast on Friday declared cash reward for information on the 12 accused in the case.

Rs 10 lakh has been announced for five of the accused including Sajid (40) whom the NIA has described as the “chief of the Bardhaman Module”. He is the oldest of the 12 accused.

The other four, described as “suspected nationals of Bangladesh," include Kasuar (28) who used to frequent the Khargragh house where the explosion occurred on October 2. Another person is Nasirullah (36), whose right hand wrist was blown off in the blast, who provided training for assembling bombs.

The NIA has also pointed out that the five prime accused used to stay in Murshidabad, Birbhum and Bardhaman districts.

The list of the accused and their details indicate an alleged terror plot which is linked to Bangladesh and was spread over several districts of West Bengal. Most of the suspects were residing in the State while one – Shanur Alom – was staying in Barpeta district of Assam.

Cash reward of Rs 3 lakh has been declared for "information leading to arrest" of Abul Kalam, Burhan Sheikh, Jahirul Sheikh and Rejaul Karim.

The reward amount is Rs 5 lakh for information on Shahnur Alom, Habibur Rahaman Sheikh and Amjad Ali Sheikh.
