Police produce two engineering students accused in the Jadavpur University molestation case at a city court in Kolkata on Saturday.

A city court remanded two students of Jadavpur University who were arrested for molestation of a female student for two days to jail custody on Saturday.

The counsel of the accused, however expressed surprise over the arrest and said that the two students had cooperated during the probe.

When asked whether Nikhil and Sonu have been identified by the girl, Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Pallab Kanti Ghosh said “The test identification parade is yet to be done.” He said that the student who had alleged molestation did not name specific individuals in the complaint. The father of the student also admitted that no specific names were mentioned in the FIR.
