Exporters form panel

In a significant move, the Tirupur Exporters Association (TEA) has floated a Human Resources panel comprising managerial rank employees in various HR divisions of garment export units so as to lend a helping hand to each other on trade, legal, and business compliances issues.

Besides, the panel would hold seminars to disseminate emerging labour laws and HR-related compliances.

TEA general secretary T. R. Vijayakumar told The Hindu that 200 HR managers had joined the initiative with many more expected shortly.

“A committee comprising 10 persons, from among the 200 who joined, has been constituted to coordinate the activities and look into grievances,” he said.

To help panel members raise issues, a common e-mail account has been created.

“Any unit that wanted to discuss and clear doubts on various issues, they could be sent to this mail. The committee will help coordinate with experts in respective areas to get solutions,” said Mr. Vijayakumar.
