A massive yoga training programme for police personnel was conducted in 14 places across the city on Saturday to help them cope with stress. Over 10,000 personnel participated in the event, which was organised as part of the “Rejuvenation for police” project.

Commissioner A.K. Viswanathan, who inspected the programme at Rajarathnam Stadium, said “police personnel are under mental and physical stress due to the nature of their work. It is essential to bring down the stress levels. Yoga practice will help them to do so in a refreshing manner.”

This training programme was held between 6.30 a.m. and 8.30 a.m. Additional Commissioners of Police and other officials participated. The programme will be held next week also.
