The decomposed body of a 37-year-old woman was found at her home in Trustpuram, Kodambakkam on Wednesday.

Around 6 p.m. on Wednesday, residents in Kodambakkam called the police, complaining of a foul odour emanating from the house.

Police said R. Lakshmi, the victim, was found with strangulation marks on her neck. Investigations revealed that Lakshmi lived with her husband, Raju, who owns a tea shop in Choolaimedu. The couple has a five-year-old son. “The murder probably took place three days ago. The victim’s husband and son are missing. A search has been launched,” said police officer. A case has been registered.
