Voters' assistance booths will be set up at all polling booths across the city on Wednesday to distribute booth slips to those who are yet to obtain them. According to a release from District Election Officer and Chennai Corporation Commissioner D.Karthikeyan, those voters whose names have figured in the electoral rolls without their images can cast their votes showing any of 13 documents of proof allowed by the Election Commission.

Residents of Chennai can contact 1800 425 2010 and 1800 425 2011 for grievances related to Assembly election. Severe action would be taken against those who give and take money for votes, the release said. Booth slips will be issued to voters at the Voters' Assistance Booth in all the 3,236 polling stations in the city, said Mr.Karthikeyan. A person who has misplaced the booth slip can also get another booth slip at the assistance booth, he added.

Booth slips will be issued at the polling stations on Wednesday to the voters who have not received it earlier, according to the District Election Officer and Collector, Kancheepuram, Ashish Chatterjee.

The DEO, in a release, said that electoral photo identity cards (EPIC) have been already been distributed to the voters in the Kancheepuram district. Further, for the voters who have not received the booth slips, it would be issued to them at the polling booths before they exercise their franchise between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. on April 13.

Adequate number of Central Reserve Police force personnel would be deployed in 648 booths, which have been identified as sensitive booths. Further, Central government staff would be posted as micro observers in these booths and the proceedings at these polling stations would be monitored through webcams, he added.
