A visually challenged woman was injured during protest on Friday when police tried to remove agitators. The 21-year-old woman from Tiruchi, who was dragged some distance, sustained cuts on her right hand, requiring 20 stitches. For the fifth day, visually challenged members of the College Students and Graduates Association of the Blind blocked traffic in Chromepet. The protest paralysed traffic on GST Road and 200-feet Radial Road for over an hour.

They have been demanding implementation of three per cent job reservation in government schools and colleges. When the police forcibly evicted them , several protesters were injured.

“Our protest is to ensure livelihood,” said R. Raja, a protester.
