Congress MLA S. Vijayadharani has written to the party high command seeking the removal of TNCC president E.V.K.S. Elangovan after a dramatic showdown between them at the party headquarters Satyamurthi Bhavan here on Friday.

Congress sources said Ms. Vijayadharani came to the party headquarters on Friday seeking immediate action against those who tore a hoarding she put up for the birth anniversary of Indira Gandhi.

Sit-in protest

The MLA alleged that the damaged poster was found in the restroom of Satyamurthi Bhavan. She sought sacking of those who tore the hoarding. However Mr. Elangovan is said to have refused to act immediately prompting the MLA to indulge in a sit-in protest.
