In an attempt to address the academic grievances of students, the University of Madras conducted a day-long camp on Monday. Students enrolled in the affiliate colleges of the university, as well as the institute of distance education, attended the camp.

P. Duraisamy, vice-chancellor, said a number of students had come to procure their mark sheets and degree certificates.

“The convocation will be held soon. The university opened up an online system ahead of the camp so that students could register for the documents they needed,” he said.

Around 200 students had submitted online requests for documents ahead of the camp. Mr. Duraisamy said the university was working towards making the system available throughout the year.

At the end of the camp, as many as 192 grievances were redressed. Over 100 candidates received their provisional certificates, degree certificates, statement of marks and consolidated statement of marks from the vice-chancellor in person.
