Two-day meet on logistics management

School of Management Studies of Vels University organised a ‘Logisticia,’ a two-day meet where specialists from various industries took part. Y. Lakshman Kumar, director of the institution, welcomed the gathering. A panel discussion on ‘Leveraging and Supply Chain,’ was chaired by Ananthanarayanan, Consultant, CII-IL. The other panel members were V. Nagaraja Rao, Divisional Manager, MPS and Corp. Logistics, Ashok Leyland; Balapadma Kumar, Director, Opti Risk; S. Surendran, Zonal Manager; and Savani Carrying Private Limited, Sai Sridhar, Consultant, CII-IL. A quiz on logistics was conducted.

G.R. Seethapathy, Director, Carewell Logistics Ltd. gave a lecture on ‘Global Logistics Import and Exports.’ There was another panel discussion on ‘Leveraging in Logistics.’ The session was chaired by S. Subramanian, Ex-Vice President, Logistics and SCM Solutions Development, HP; and V. Ganesh, Director, Supply Chain Logistics Private Ltd; S. Dilip, Director, ASV Logistics; G. Ramesh, Vice-President, Take Solutions; and K. Nagappan, G.M. Materials, Apollo Hospitals. The resource persons spoke on transportation management warehousing management, vendor management information systems, and others.
