Twins M. Hari Vishnu and M. Hari Vignesh were the centre of attention at the first session of general counselling on Sunday in Anna University.

Hari Vishnu, with a cut-off of 200, was ranked second in the merit list while Hari Vignesh, with a cut-off of 199.25, was ranked 250. Vishnu chose EEE at College of Engineering, Guindy.

Their father R.P. Manoharan owns an offset printing shop in Tirupur. Both had scored 493 marks in Class X at St. Joseph’s Matriculation School and later joined Vikas Vidyalaya, as the former school did not admit boys in higher secondary classes. The boys studied in different sections till Class X but will now be in the same class.

In Class 12, Vishnu had scored 1191 while Vignesh scored 1186. “We had expected both to get the same marks. We don’t know if he will get into CEG,” Mr. Manoharan said soon after the inaugural session.

Their cup of happiness was full when Vignesh was also admitted to EEE at CEG. The brothers are yet to uncertain if they would share a hostel room.
