TNEB announces change

Tamil Nadu Electricity Board has announced a change in the assessment procedure and collection of power consumption charges for L.T. consumers in the Adyar Division and Chengalpattu Circle from Tuesday.

The areas covered under the Adyar division includes Adyar, Gandhi Nagar, Kasturiba Nagar, Indira Nagar, Besant Nagar, Shastri Nagar, Valmiki Nagar, Thiruvalluvar Nagar, Kottivakkam, Thiruvanmiyur, Palavakkam, Neelankarai, Vettuvankeni, Injambakkam, Panaiyur, Velachery, Taramani, Kotturpuram, Sri Nagar Colony, Rangarajapuram, Pallipattu, Kanagam and Little Mount.

The Chengalpattu circle covers Sriperumbudur, Maraimalai Nagar, Maduranthagam, Acharapakkam and Chengalpattu divisions.

Under the new system, assessment would be made on any day of the month.

The payment towards the consumption charges should be remitted from the second day of the assessment.

The payments should be made within 20 days of the assessment.
