Three students, Chitra, Gayathri and Asha, of Chellammal College in Chennai were killed when a water tanker lorry ran over them in the cityi on Thursday.
The lorry driver and cleaner fled from the scene after the vehicle rammed an auto and two motorcycles before crashing into a traffic median near Guindy.
The police are investigating the case.
