Tamilisai to contest from Virugambakkam

State unit president of the BJP, Tamilisai Soundararajan, will contest from the Virugambakkam Assembly constituency in Chennai, the party leadership announced on Sunday.

The party’s Central Election Committee released the second list of 30 candidates for the May 16 Assembly polls. The list comprised five women. Last month, the party had released its first list of candidates. The BJP has no allies as on date.

M. S. Ramalingam has been given ticket from Thanjavur, Sivakumar alias Pettai Siva from Mannargudi, C Muthukumar from Mayiladuthurai, S. P. Saravanan from Kattumannarkoil, Thirumalaibalaji from Dindigul and R. Nandakumar R from Kavundampalayam.
