SRM varsity technical festival under way

Aaruush, the fourth annual national level technical and management festival of the SRM University got under way in Kattankulathur on Tuesday.

M.S.Ananth, Director, Indian Institute of Technology-Madras, inaugurated the festival that would be on till Sunday. About 50 events would be part of the festival, which is expected to be attended by more than 8,000 students from various educational institutions across the country.

An exclusive defence exhibition will also be organised and an Arjun Main Battle Tank would be on display. Officers Training Academy, Indian Air Force, Coast Guard and other establishments would also be taking part.

Writer Chetan Bhagat would be conducting a quiz and experts from premier Information Technology companies would be delivering guest lectures. The theme for this year's festival would be conservation of energy. P.Sathyanarayanan, vice-chancellor and T.P.Ganesan, pro vice-chancellor (planning and development) of SRM University were also present.
