Special postal cover on Valliammal College

The Postal Department released a special cover on Valliammal College for Women, Anna Nagar East, to mark the silver jubilee of the college.

The cover was released by the Post Master General (Business Development and Technology), Kulbir Singh, and the copy was received by the Higher Education Special Secretary, P.W.C. Davidar.

The cover bearing the photo impression of the silver jubilee auditorium and photo of the founder, A.M. Paramasivanandam, on the front side and the view of the sprawling college campus shows the efforts of various people to make this institution a renowned one.

In his address, Mr. Davidar asked the students to cherish the college life and he wanted them to get rid of fear from their minds to achieve greater results. He said that 95 per cent of skills of the students are being developed during college life. He asked the management to make the teaching methodology a more interactive one to make the students conversant with the new trends.

Mr. Kulbir Singh spoke about the growth of Indian Postal Services and wished that the students excel in academics and be successful in their career.

Principal, T.V.S. Padmaja, in her welcome address, said that the special cover is a distinctive honour for the college.

Academic advisor S. Valavan said that the best facilities provided by the institution would take the present generation to greater heights.

College chairman A.P. Maikandan and correspondent A.M. Arivudai Nambi were present on the occasion.
