A Saudi Arabian Airline flight aborted take-off to Jeddah after smoke was noticed in the tail portion of the aircraft on Monday.
Airport sources said around 10 a.m., the Boeing-777 aircraft of the Saudi Arabian airlines was pushed back and when it was on the taxi track, smoke was noticed in the tail portion.
It was immediately taken to the remote parking bay and all the passengers were safely off-loaded and brought back to the terminal building.
The engineering crew checked the aircraft and they identified that the smoke had come from the auxiliary power unit located in the tail portion. The problem was rectified in about two hours and the flight left for Jeddah around 1.15 p.m.
