Rs.14 lakh in cash, 7 pistols, some magazines

Cash and weapons, seized from the Velachery apartment in which five suspects were killed recently, were displayed at the office of the Commissioner of Police on Sunday.

The items recovered from plot No.335 at the Tamil Nadu Housing Board Colony included Rs.14 lakh in cash, seven pistols, some magazines and cartridges.

The five men suspected to be involved in the two bank robberies at Perungudi and Kilkattalai, were shot dead during an encounter in the early hours on Thursday.

On Sunday, police also released the photographs of persons wanted and arrested in connection with bank robberies in Mumbai.

Among them was the photograph of Sujay Kumar alias Vinod Kumar, who was listed as a ‘wanted accused.'

The other person listed as wanted in Mumbai is Abhaykumar alias Rajesh Yadav alias Raju Yadav.

A case has been registered against Subodhkant alias Subodh Kumar, Sujay Kumar and Abhay Kumar in Charkop Police Station, Mumbai (CR No. 259/2010) under provisions of the IPC and the Arms Act, pertaining to a bank robbery there.
