The teachers of Adarsh Group of Schools protested at the school campus in Royapettah on Saturday, demanding that the management implement the recommendations of the Sixth Pay Commission.
Teachers held placards and raised slogans saying that the management is not paying them well.
Despite several representations the management has not revised the salaries, the teachers said.
According to Ramesh Lamba, General Secretary, Punjab Association, the management did agree to pay the teachers according to the Sixth Pay Commission but as the government has slashed the fee this financial year and the appeal is still pending in Madras High Court, teachers were asked to wait.
“Demand justified”
“Their demand is justified but I need the resources to pay. The situation today is different and all I am asking them is to wait,” he said.
