School inaugurates digital library

A section of students experiencing at the E Library faclitiy that was launched at Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Educare, Nemilichery.

Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Educare, Nemilichery, inaugurated a digital library recently.

With a single click, the students will be able to access information needed for them stored in the digital library server in more than 30 categories in various content formats such as e book, video, audio, image and others.

The management of the school is happy with the digital library as it reduces the huge expenditure in maintaining the manual library.

The usual library has the limitation of less space for storing the books.

The digital library has the capacity of storing lakhs of ebooks as well as other multimedia content from all over the world. E books on Bible stories, Quran, Ramayana, Mahabharatha, Amar Chitra Katha, fairy tales, grandma tales, general knowledge, astronomy, world history, movies on Gandhi, Bhagat Singh, and others.

The E library was inaugurated by R. Kannan, Managing Director, Shriram Group.

In his address, he appreciated the school for for providing free education and free noon meals to all the students. He also appreciated the school for its latest state-of the-art technology, English language laboratory, online test and others.

He shared his personal experience with Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba at Puttaparthi.

He stressed the importance of “Service to mankind.”

Former bureaucrat, G. Rangarao, said that real education is how one conducts himself in society and proves to be a good citizen of the country.”

Educational Advisor, SSSIE, Chromepet, N. Shanmugam delineated the three aspects of education viz. reading, learning and understanding from his school day experiences.

On the occasion, prizes were distributed to winners of various competitions and awards were presented to best teachers by the Chennai Sahodaya School Complex.

P. Kumaraswamy, correspondent, welcomed the gatheringand principal K. Saimeera proposed a vote of thanks.
