Residents of Thirumagal Nagar, Chitlapakkam, have requested S.R. Raja, Tambaram MLA the ensure that the frequency of H51 cut service (Chitlapakkam Indira Nagar - Broadway) and 52C cut service (Indira Nagar - T.Nagar) is increased.

They have also approached the Metropolitan Transport Corporation (MTC) with this request.

The services of H51, introduced in 2004, were stopped after a year without any intimation. Six months ago, H51 cut service was re-introduced but only one bus plies every day at 7.30 a.m. However, the services of 52C are yet to resume.

“During rush hour, commuters have to go to Mahalakshmi Nagar bus stop or Tambaram Sanatorium bus stop,” N. Arun Kumar, a resident of Thirumagal Nagar, Chitlapakkam, says.

There are a number of services including M18G (Hasthinapuram - Guduvanchery), 500A (Hasthinapuram - Chengalpattu), small buses S2 (Chromepet - Medavakkam) and S4 (Chromepet - Medavakkam, via Vellakkal) from Hasthinapuram bus terminus and Chromepet bus stop. Residents suggest that a few services of M18G and 500A could originate from Chitlapakkam bus terminus.

“At present, only 52D originates from Chitlapakkam and plies via MIT flyover, Chromepet and Pallavaram,” L. Sundararaman, a resident of Muthulakshmi Nagar, Chitlapakkam, says. MTC officials have promised to do the needful.
