Much to the displeasure of residents of Sri Krishna Nagar, Anandammal Nagar, Sekharan Nagar, Prabhu Nagar, Kailash Nagar, Mookambigai Nagar, Perumal Nagar, Rathinam Nagar, Sairam Nagar, Shanthi Nagar, Gurudev Colony, Indira Priyadarshini Nagar and Perumbakkam, a Tasmac outlet has been opened at Anandammal Nagar Main Road, off Sholinganallur-Medavakkam Main Road, which connects IT Corridor and Tambaram-Velachery Main Road.

“The outlet was opened, despite residents giving representations to officials at S10 Pallikaranai Police Station and to Kancheepuram District Collector against the move,” says S. Durai, a resident.

Residents say problems created by visitors to the outlet such as consumption of liquor in the open, passing offensive comments have become more common. Residents also pointed out that the outlet was opened amidst police security. The District Collector has promised to look into the matter.
