Railway loco pilots stage protest

March 15, 2013 11:57 am | Updated 11:57 am IST - CHENNAI:

Railway loco pilots and motormen staged a demonstration across divisions of Southern Railway on Thursday to press for various demands, including the implementation of Railway Board guidelines on avoiding cases of Signal Passed At Danger. Loco pilots led by the All India Loco Running Staff Association (AILRSA) organised a protest meeting at the Moore Market Complex here.

The AILRSA’s other demands that are also based on Railway Board recommendations include providing weekly/calendar day rest schedules, limiting continuous night duty cycles to two and working hours to six hours and adoption of standardised and crew-friendly loco cabins.
