As many as 25 undertrial prisoners got ‘ Puttur Kattu’ treatment, a traditional bone-setting treatment in Central Prison, Puzhal.

The prison authorities organised a medical camp with 15 allopathic doctors. ‘Puttur Kattu’ specialists also visited the prison.

Among the list of prisoners who benefited the treatment are Sathishkumar, 31, of Nolambur, Panneerselvam, 24, of Koyambedu and Ranjith, 22, of Thiruverkadu.

A prison official said, “We do not have escort parties to take them to the Government Stanley Hospital where orthopaedic treatment is given to prisoners. Hence, we arranged the medical camp here along with specialists of Puttur Kattu.”

Over 166 prisoners benefited from the medical camp.
