Prince of Arcot greets Ram Nath Kovind

Hopes he will defend democratic values

In a congratulatory message, the Prince of Arcot, Nawab Mohammed Abdul Ali, extended his greetings to Ram Nath Kovind on being elected India’s 14th President, in a landslide victory.

In a press release, the Prince said “It was the will of the Almighty God that you should lead the nation as our President.” He expressed the hope that the President-elect would continue to safeguard peace, harmony, tolerance and secularism.

He also hoped that he would defend democratic values, the Constitution and the rule of law at all times so that all fellow citizens, irrespective of caste, creed or religion, live together in amity and develop the country in many aspects.
