The State government on Saturday promoted two Additional Directors-General of Police (ADGP) as Directors-General of Police, eight Deputy Inspectors-General (DIG) as IGs and 15 Superintendents of Police as DIGs, and effected a shuffle of officers.
K.R. Shyam Sundar, hitherto ADGP, State Human Rights Commission (SHRC), Chennai, has been promoted and posted as DGP, Enforcement, Chennai.
Vibhakar Sharma, ADGP/Managing Director, Tamil Nadu Police Housing Corporation, Chennai, has been promoted and posted as Chairman - cum - Managing Director of Tamil Nadu Police Housing Corporation.
Following the promotion, P. Balasubramanian, hitherto Madurai Police Commissioner, has been posted as IG, South Zone, Madurai.
New Commissioners have been posted for Madurai and Tirunelveli cities.
A. Pari will be the new Commissioner, Madurai and V. Varadharaju in Tirunelveli city.
K. Periaiah will be the new Joint Commissioner, South Zone, Chennai Police and M.C. Sarangan, Joint Commissioner, Central Zone, Chennai Police.
Ten Additional Superintendents of Police have been promoted as Superintendents of Police.
