Police constable suspended

A constable attached to Anna Square police station was suspended on Tuesday for allegedly issuing non-traceable certificate for lost passports by forging the signature of the station inspector.

According to police, a few weeks ago a group of people, claiming to be from Trichy, complained that they had lost their passports and needed a non-traceable certificate.

Sukumar allegedly provided them the certificate by forging the inspector’s signature. When the certificate was provided to the passport authorities, they found that the complainants did not own passports

During investigation it was found that the constable had forged the signature.
