Panimalar College of Engineering won the volleyball title in the MAM Muthiah Kumararajah of Chettinad Memorial National inter-collegiate sports festival organized by Kumararani Meena Muthiah College of Arts and last week. Panimalar defeated Loyola 25-19, 25-16 in the final.
Logewsaran of Panimalar was declared the man of the match and Jose as the best blocker. Jenson (Sathyabama) was the best setter, while Sundar (DB Jain) named as the best attacker.
Cash award
Panimalar received a cash award of Rs. 20,000 while Loyola got Rs. 15000. Sathyabama (third place) and D.B.Jain (fourth place) were richer by Re 10,000 and Re 5000 respectively. Mr. M. Vijaykumar,Member Secretary, SDAT, presided and gave away the prizes in the presence of Dr. P.T. Vijayshree Principal and Organising Secretary.
