Starting Wednesday, passengers will be able to fly out of Chennai through the new domestic departure terminal.

SpiceJet and Jet Airways will shift their operations to the new facility on Wednesday followed by Indigo and Go Air on Thursday and Air India on Friday, said a press release from the Airports Authority of India (AAI).

AAI had begun shifting arrival operations to the new terminal from March 21.

In the light of these developments, AAI has introduced a new traffic pattern for domestic passengers which will take effect immediately.

Vehicles heading to domestic departure or arrival will turn right from GST Road and go through the new terminal building. There won’t be any change in the traffic pattern for international departures and arrivals.

AAI has put up sign boards at the airport to guide motorists and passengers.
