The Editor-in-Chief of The Hindu , N. Ram, on Monday strongly condemned the attack on camerapersons of the NDTV-Hindu and Jaya TV television channels, who were doing their professional duty and covering the function at the Madras High Court. He criticised the police who were on the spot for not immediately coming to the aid of the journalists and for not arresting the assailants. He wanted criminal cases to be registered on the basis of the complaints filed by the journalists and action taken expeditiously.
